Here is what happens when you practice, and where the limits are.
Lessons and replies
AI generates lesson content and conversation replies using your chosen language, level, learning preferences and relevant learning history. Guided lessons follow saved lesson progress. The illustrated tutors are AI personas, not photographs of teachers.
Speaking and listening
Tutor speech is generated by a text-to-speech service. With your permission, learner audio is sent to a speech service to become text. We do not store learner voice recordings in our database or file storage. Local playback stays in your device’s memory for the session. Speech providers handle audio under their own policies.
What feedback can—and cannot—tell you
Pronunciation feedback is approximate transcript word matching. It can say whether the expected words were understood; it cannot reliably judge your accent or individual speech sounds. AI explanations and translations can also be incorrect. Review the transcript and retry when it does not match what you said.
What we save
We save account details, learning preferences, confirmed messages and transcripts, saved words, corrections, lesson progress and practice statistics. Subscription and usage records administer your plan. Problem reports and hearing reports help investigate issues.
Your choices
Microphone access is optional and requested only when you use it. You can use text, review spoken transcripts, change voice settings and choose how much native-language help you want. Optional reminder emails can be turned off.
